Because there are so many bugs in v1.3 that hopefully will get fixed in v2. We seem to find them much faster than daVinci and SableRaven can fix them. (Thanks a lot for trying though!)
A large reason to use this library over alternatives was the consistently rapid rate of development. (Bi-)monthly releases helped a lot to make this project appear serious and dependable. Now the last release is over three months old. :(
I think this project needs more contributors, at least it should try to accept and encourage patches from bug reporters. Now I admit I have not even tried to fix any bugs myself. I'm reluctant to do so, fearing it might be a waste of time. For example the
big code redesign for v2 seems to happen mostly behind closed doors, and appears to make any patches against the publicly available code obsolete.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
