MenuItem IsCheckable 'Check' icon Missing

Has anyone else found that the icon no longer appears when you have a Fluent:MenuItem as "IsCheckable" from the latest source build? I thought I was going a bit crazy but a fresh project confirmed for me it doesn't appear at all.

Doesn't appear in either themes. I do however get the orange rectangle effect where the check icon should be in the Office 2010 theme.
<Fluent:SplitButton Header="Test" Width="100" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center">
                    <Fluent:MenuItem Header="Test" IsCheckable="True" />
</Fluent:SplitButton>
I am using the Office 2013 theme, and I noticed that there were still a few references to Themes/Metro instead of Themes/Office2013 in a few items (Including the actual reference to the check image file in Themes/Office2013/Images/Images.xaml) but fixing those didn't fix my problem.

If somethings changed in a recent build to make this work any advice would be greatly appreciated.
