Wpf Ribbon

Apr 28, 2010 at 1:05 PM

I need a clarification about WPF Ribbon:
I think there is a bit of confusion about this topic

we have developed with WPF Ribbon for more 14 months
and we are waiting for an official release from Microsoft.
we expected it in Visual Studio 2010 but it didn't happen.

Can you explain me what is the Microsoft strategy about WPF Ribbon ?
Can we use the Fluent Ribbon in a real project ?
is there any plan to release a Office 2010 Ribbon ?

Thank you very much
Marco

Hi, Marco.

Our team had been waiting it too. We were decided to develop own Ribbon control in November, 2009 and relesed the first CTP1 in December 2009. Now we have RTM version v1.2. We support two .NET frameworks: 3.5SP1 & 4RTM. We do our best to response to feedback (bug fixing, feature adding).

Can we use the Fluent Ribbon in a real project ?
We are using Fluent Ribbon Control Suite in our comercial projects. As you may see, the license allows you to use it in your projects freely. We are very open to discuss any issues and give you help to implement Ribbon in your application.

Can you explain me what is the Microsoft strategy about WPF Ribbon ?
Well... I do not know what is happening there, maybe Ribbon is not so important project for them.
I have contacted with Microsoft officials and suggested our help, but they have own plans, so...

Is there any plan to release a Office 2010 Ribbon?
What do you mean 'Office 2010 Ribbon'? This control suite have Office 2010 style, Here you can see this style.
