RibbonTabItem Transparency

Feb 22, 2011 at 1:36 AM

I know this is knitpicking; however I have a solid black desktop background and when I use the Office 2010 themes, it is very difficult to read the tab headers (which have a black foregound color).  If you open Word 2010 along side a Fluent app you'll see that the fade to transparency happens beyond the display area for the headers.  Is there anyway to adjust this in the Fluent Ribbon?

Thanks,

Steve

I agree with sbjcat, this is a sample screenshot (from the latest source as of this writing): http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/1746/sshot1op.png

Just set this as the direct window content:

<Grid>
    <!-- Dieses Grid samt Background brauchen wir, um bei Dunklen Aero-Farben einen Gradient für die Ribbon-Tab-Header zu zeichnen und deren Lesbarkeit zu gewahren. -->
    <Grid IsHitTestVisible="False">
        <Grid.Background>
            <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="1,0">
                <!-- This gradient stop is Fully transparent. -->
                <GradientStop Color="#00FFFFFF"
                                Offset="0.0" />
                <!-- This gradient stop is fully opaque. -->
                <GradientStop Color="#FFFFFFFF"
                                Offset="0.06" />
                <!-- This gradient stop is Fully transparent (used to preserve real window background). -->
                <GradientStop Color="#00FFFFFF"
                                Offset="0.07" />
            </LinearGradientBrush>
        </Grid.Background>
    </Grid>

    <!-- Your real Window-Content goes here -->
</Grid>
